The Wind Break is a simple device to keep
the wind from "stealing your breath." You can use the template
above and make
the Wind Break out of any type of material that is somewhat stiff, like a
piece of plastic from a plastic
file folder. The template was made for an Am flute; however, the
pattern can be adapted to fit any larger or smaller bore.
Please be advised that using any kind of
device of this sort may affect both the tuning and the timbre of the flute.
